A rustic lodge 45 km from Iquitos, built from the wood of the forest itself. Ten rooms, two ecosystems, thirty years of stories.

Amazon Yanayacu Lodge sits on the right bank of the Amazon River, inside the Yanayacu Communal Reserve. Forty-five kilometres from Iquitos — an hour and a half by traditional boat through two ecosystems: the Amazon and the Yanayacu River.
Everything was built from the jungle's own materials, following the traditional rustic design of riverside houses. The ten rooms have private bathrooms and showers, comfortable beds and mosquito netting.
In the main house you'll find reception and the bar, with cold drinks and treated water brought from Iquitos. Outside, hammocks to rest with a view of the forest, kerosene lamplight at night and a generator to charge your gear.
Pink and grey river dolphins, the Yagua indigenous community with a blowgun demonstration, caimans, giant water lilies, the paiche fish and a sanctuary with anacondas and sloths.

Ayahuasca — or yagé — is a brew of three plants: the ayahuasca vine itself, chacruna and huayusa. The ceremony takes place at night, in the dark, and lasts about four hours.
The shaman leads with icaros — the whistled and sung melodies that call on the spirit of the plants. It is a ritual of cleansing and healing, conducted with the care of someone who has known this forest for generations.
